GEORGE PINDAR SCHOOL IS PART OF

Our Governors

Our Governors

The Governing Body

The work of a Governor in leading a school in the 21st century is complex, interesting, often challenging but always rewarding. Above all, Governors strategically lead the school, providing support and robust challenge to ensure the school continues to meet the needs of the students and community it serves.

The Governors are determined to deliver outstanding learning, educational achievement, care, guidance and support to enable successful progression and enhanced life opportunities for all our students.

George Pindar School and Graham School as part of the Hope Learning Trust are managed by a Local Governing Committee.

George Pindar School and the Governors are committed to the Safeguarding and protection of our students. All Governors must to submit to a Criminal Records Bureau check. There is also mandatory training which includes Child Protection awareness, Safeguarding & promoting child welfare and safer recruitment training.

Leadership and the Role of Governors

Governors have an essential role as part of effective leadership and school self-review. Governors give strategic advice to the governing body and senior management Team. They act as a ‘critical friend’.

It is not a requirement, or appropriate for individual governors or the governing body to become involved in day-to-day management of school, this is the responsibility of the Principal and the Senior Management Team.
