Upcoming college events – taster days and open events 2019/2020

All post-16 education providers (sixth-forms and colleges) are putting alternative arrangements in place for applications, interviews and admissions for September 2020, during the Coronavirus pandemic. As we receive details from the different providers, we will update the information below.

Scarborough UTC Sixth Form Open Event

https://www.scarboroughutc.co.uk/events/

Scarborough 6Form

Scarborough Sixth Form College are guaranteeing a place for all applicants whatever the outcome of GCSEs. Detailed discussions about the most appropriate courses for students will take palce during their enrolment interview in August.

For students who have not yet had a consultation at the College, the team is aiming to contact them by phone over the coming weeks.

At the moment, they are hoping that the Preview Day on Wednesday 1 July will still go ahead. Applicants can log on to the applicant portal at https://portal.s6f.org.uk for updates.

If you have any questions, please email: admissions@s6f.org.uk

Scarborough TEC

If you are booked in for an interview with Scarborough TEC’s Student Recruitment Team, you will now receive a telephone interview instead. Their team will be phoning people between 10am-4pm, Monday to Friday.

If you have already attended your first interview and are waiting to attend your ‘Showcase’ session, all these are postponed until further notice.

The current situation will NOT jeopardise your place at Scarborough TEC. If you have any questions, the team can be contacted by email: admissions@scarboroughTEC.ac.uk

The Academy Hair & Beauty

For those students who have applied to the Academy through their website, the team are now giving advice/interviews over the phone.

Anyone needing more advice on hair, beauty, barbering and make-up artistry course options including apprenticeships can read the course information on their website, and either apply online or call the Academy.

If you have any questions, please call 07790 845794 or email: admin@academyhairandbeauty.com

Askham Bryan College

Askham Bryan College are still welcoming applications – they have added a new Apply Now page to their website. This also includes a helpful FAQs section for parents and students.

They have also moved their interview process from face-to-face to telephone interviews.

The College are also working on digitalising their open event experience. As such, students can access course guides, virtual tours and there will soon be some presentations on their subject(s) of interest. This can be found here.

If anyone has any questions, please call: 01904 772 236 or email calum.goodwin@askham-bryan.ac.uk

  • Where you meet the entry requirements for your chosen course you will be accepted.
  • Where you do not meet the entry requirements for your chosen course, we guarantee you a place on a suitable alternative.
  • If you would like the option of a telephone or online interview, or access to advice and guidance, please contact the College by emailing info@eastridingcollege.ac.uk
  • *Exceptions include those with a criminal conviction or who have been previously been excluded, or where the SEN needs or requirements of an existing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) cannot be fully met.  In these circumstances a risk assessment may be required before we are able to confirm your place at the College.
