GEORGE PINDAR SCHOOL IS PART OF

Admissions

Admissions

Primary School Students

The Local Authority will contact families of Year 5 children in June and provide you with information on how to apply for a secondary school place. In March of Year 6 you will be offered a place at a secondary school. At this point, George Pindar School will contact all families who have been offered a place with them for the following September.

George Pindar School usually feeds from a set catchment area that, as a general guide, includes children who live in areas served by the following schools:

  • Braeburn Primary School
  • Cayton Community Primary School
  • Overdale Community Primary School
  • Seamer & Irton Community Primary School
  • Wheatcroft Community Primary School

Moving into the Area, or In-Year Transfers

The Local Authority deals with in-year admissions on our behalf and you should contact the Area Education Office in the first instance. Once we receive notification from the Local Authority that your child has been offered a place at George Pindar one of our Heads of Year will contact you and invite you to a pre-admission meeting.

At the pre-admission meeting you will tour the school, meet key staff and be given information about our policies and procedures. Following the meeting we will feed back to the Local Authority who will then confirm the offered place, assuming there are no issues raised by either the school or the parents.

Once an admittance date has been agreed and you have completed our admission pack and purchased school uniform your child will be able to begin attending George Pindar School. Their first day at school will usually be a Monday.

Admission for students with SEND
